The MSN program went through a revision earlier this year but the Psych Mental Health NP (PMHNP) track was not included. We are now revising the PMHNP track to bring it in align with the other MSN tracks. This track will now follow the Core MSN courses and the NP core. The clinical courses will follow the format of other NP courses and a capstone course was added. New content was added and the old courses were updated and content was redistributed. All the didactic courses were moved to 3 credit hours and the clinical courses were made into four 1-credit hour courses. Additionally, the admission standards will nethe same as the other tracks.
This revision was done to keep the PMHNP track current with CCNE which is our nursing accreditation body. Additionally, it has been done to meet the requirements for the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) who administers the exams for the PMHNP certification. Lastly, the revisions have been done to meet current clinical standards.
